  • Overview

    POSITION SUMMARY: Influence sales of parts and service of Caterpillar and other related products throughout the territory, with an emphasis on hospitals and advanced electrical services (AES). Builds relationships with customers and keeps them informed of ongoing services and specials with an emphasis on servicing hospitals, including advanced electrical services.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Prospect and develop assigned accounts and provide parts and service to meet customer needs in regards to CSA’s, EPG, AES and incremental work opportunities.
    2. Establish and maintain close-working relationships with customers at all levels.
    3. Introduction of Hawthorne’s parts and service capabilities to all customers.
    4. Make routine sales calls on customers in assigned markets and adhere to the quoting process for parts and service.
    5. Assist customers in selection of programs that will insure maximum life cycle of their equipment.
    6. Provide coordination between customers and said departments to provide best possible service.
    7. Maintain customer contact information, sales call reports and general info housed in Sale Link.
    8. Achieve sales goals and objectives for each market.
    9. Perform any job that may be assigned as necessary to meet the company, department or individual goals and objectives.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

    1. Preferred minimum of five years in a product support sales and service environment with experience in customer service.
    2. Must have ability to communicate clearly, both orally and in writing.
    3. Must have excellent interpersonal skills.
    4. Must have a positive attitude and be a self-starter.
    5. Must be organized and a good planner.
    6. Ability to set and meet goals.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    1. Walking and moving about on foot often up and down stairs.
    2. Handing: Seizes helps or works with hands.
    3. Lifting: Raises or lowers miscellaneous paperwork.
    4. Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.
    5. Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
    6. Standing: Remains in standing position if required to perform various functions of the job.
    7. Vision: Read computer and paperwork.
    8. Talking: Communications by phone and in person.
    9. Sitting: Sits at desk. Sits for long periods of time.
    10. Climbing: Climb on and off earthmoving machines/engines.
    11. Crawling: In, around and under machinery.

     

    ENVIRONMENTAL:     

    1. Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
    2. Temp/Weather: Works in both office and outdoor environment.
