  • Overview

    POSITION SUMMARY:   Under the general direction of the Rental Manager, this position exists to ensure our inventory of rental equipment and ancillary items are kept clean, stored neatly,  and properly sorted and processed after each rental.  The person in this position will set the tone for the entire department in regards to keeping our work and equipment storage areas neat and orderly.



    1. Take directions from, and as a priority, follow the directions issued by the Rental Coordinator, and carry out those directions without delay.                                                                                                                        
    2. Complete equipment check-ins, check-outs, and pull orders as directed by the Rental Coordinator, and do so based on priority and urgency required by the Rental Coordinator.
    3. Handle basic check-in and initial washing (if necessary) of stock numbered rental inventory, prior to staging the gear in a designated area to await check-in by a Technician.  Immediately report the results of the initial check-in to the Rental Coordinator.        
    4. Check-in and count incoming rental cable, hose, and other ancillary items, immediately reporting any deficiencies or damage to the Rental Coordinator.
    5. Conduct a visual safety check on rental cables and hoses while they are being rolled and prepared for their next rental.
    6. Inspect and clean containment berms after each rental; then store them organized and ready for their next rental.
    7. Safely move equipment (some weighing up to 50,000lbs) and stage in yard as required, but always in an organized and orderly fashion.
    8. Show a sense of urgency to assist and always be friendly when a rental customer is returning or picking-up equipment.
    9. Complete all required paperwork when fueling and any paperwork requested by the Rental Coordinator; quickly returning the completed paperwork to the Rental Coordinator.
    10. Keep the yard areas used by the Rental Department clean and in a high state of organization, with all stock numbered equipment sorted in groups by size, type, and rental status.  This equipment is to be parked in neat, parallel rows.
    11. Keep all rental cable, hose, and other ancillary items checked, tagged, labeled, neatly stored, and rental ready.
    12. Upon use and return of any Company truck; remove any trash and/or clutter, add fuel if necessary, and always refill our auxiliary diesel tanks.
    13. Maintain all company mandated Safety Certifications; including, but not limited to forklift operation, lock-out/tag-out, and man- lift operation.
    14. Wear safety related PPE where required.
    15. Inspect and complete forklift inspection forms each morning for the Rental Department's forklifts.
    16. Always engage in proper lifting techniques and get assistance when it's required to lift items weighing more than 50lbs.
    17. When in the field, follow all the Safety regulations and rules that apply to a particular location or jobsite.
    18. Complete a basic Job-Hazard-Analysis ("JSA") before commencing work on a project, a complex delivery or pick-up, and prior to handling any on-site installations.   



    1. Must have a High School Diploma or GED.
    2. Must have a valid California Class "C" Driver's License with a good driving record.  
    3. Must be able to be Forklift Certified within 30 days of employment.
    4. Must be computer literate.
    5. Must have good communication skills and business etiquette.
    6. Ability to multi task.


    TESTING REQUIREMENTS:  Applicants may be required to pass a written and/or oral examination before being considered for employment in this position.



    1. Walking: Moves about on foot often up and down stairs.
    2. Handling: Seizes, helps or works with hands.
    3. Lifting: Raises or lowers parts weighing up to 60lbs.
    4. Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.
    5. Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
    6. Standing: Remains in standing position, if required to perform various functions of the job.
    7. Vision: Read paperwork and records on the computer.
    8. Talking: Communications by phone and in person.
    9. Sitting: Sits at desk for minimal amount of time.
    10. Climbing: Climbing on and off forklifts.



    1. Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
    2. Temp/Weather: Works in both inside and outside all weather environments.
