  • Overview

    POSITION SUMMARY:     The Field Service Project Manager coordinates service work, assists with quoting, and manages projects assigned by the Service Department in support of offerings supplied by Hawthorne. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, preparing proposals, including complex parts quotes, handling global logistics, customer communication, developing SOP’s (standard operating procedures) for service projects, managing schedules, and ensuring exact scope of work and projects are accomplished and meeting the standards of Hawthorne Procedures and Policies for EPG, Industrial, and Marine business activities.



    1. Creates and maintains project related documents in a timely and organized manner in accordance with the Department and Company accounting procedures and as needed to meet the contract requirements.
    2. Prepares parts/materials quotes, SOP’s, shipping, logistics, scheduling, related documents, and any other project requirements, ensuring industry standards are met.
    3. Participates and/or leads job walks, project coordination meetings, and site visits in support of the overall service project.
    4. Assists with preparing basic job hazard analysis for various projects in accordance with Hawthorne’s safety policies.
    5. Continuously works with all key personnel on various projects to ensure smooth, fluid progress.
    6. Directs and works with Fabrication, Service Shop, and Field Service in the overall collaboration of service projects as required by the project specifications and current industry standard practices.
    1. Maintains daily summaries ensuring that management is advised on status of all assigned projects.
    2. Participates in any regularly scheduled meetings in support of inter-departmental and inter-divisional activities as related to assigned projects.

    1. High school diploma and 5+ years recent experience in power generation industry with demonstrated technical training. Bachelor’s Degree preferable. Project Manager certification preferable.
    2. Proficient using MS Office Suite (Word, Access, Excel) and PC skills required.
    3. Working knowledge of CAT software systems used for troubleshooting/parts ordering/tech support etc. i.e. SIS, TMI.
    4. Ability to effectively and efficiently manage multiple projects simultaneously, while meeting deadlines within Company standards
    5. Must have the ability to effectively communicate business and technical information to co-workers, customers and management using both verbal and written media.
    6. Must have a valid California Class C Drivers License with a good driving record.

    12. Exposure: Foul odors, fumes and harsh substances.
