  • Overview

    This position includes a variety of duties for the warranty department. There are various claims to be managed, as well as scanning, moving online files, answering phones and back-up for other warranty personnel.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Coordinates with various departments as well as with Caterpillar and Allied companies to resolve warranty claims.
    2. Answers phones and assists with warranty questions and claims.
    3. Provides back-up coverage for other warranty personnel.
    4. Scans filings for claims and organizes online files.
    5. Follow up with outstanding warranty claims.
    6. Perform additional functions as directed.

    Qualifications

     EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

    1. High school diploma or equivalent.
    2. Must have two years of general office experience.
    3. PC skills required.
    4. Working knowledge in DBS system (AS400) is preferred, not required.
    5. Willingness to learn new warranty related skills.
    6. Ability to communicate professionally and clearly, both verbally and in writing.
    7. Ability to work with minimal supervision.
    8. Must have and maintain a valid California Class C Driver’s License with a good driving record.
    9. Bilingual (English/Spanish) helpful.

     

    TESTING REQUIREMENTS: Applicants may be required to pass a written and/or oral examination before being considered for employment in this position.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    1. Walking and moving about on foot often through uneven terrain.
    2. Handling: Seizes helps or works with hands.
    3. Reaching: Extends hands and arms in any direction.
    4. Standing: Remains in standing position. If required to perform various functions of the job.
    5. Vision: Read service reports.
    6. Talking: Communications by radio, phone, and in person.
    7. Sitting: Sits for extended periods at a desk.
    8. Stooping: Bends body downward and forward by bending at knees or waist.
    9. Hearing: Hears well enough to discern mechanical problems for safety in and around shop  and construction sites and to receive communication by radio, phone and in person.
    10. Laying: Lies in prone position under vehicles and equipment.

      ENVIRONMENTAL:          

    1. Noise: Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
    2. Temperatures/Weather: Works in an office environment.
