  • Overview

    POSITION SUMMARY:  The Corporate Credit Manager is a key member of the company's management team and plays a leadership role in managing credit and collection functions of the company. This position recommends and implements company-wide credit and collection strategies and is accountable for the entire credit granting process, including the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing business customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers, with the goal of optimizing the mix of company sales and bad debt losses.

    Responsibilities

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    1. Establish and maintain the corporate credit policy.
    2. Review and make recommendations to enhance and streamline processes.
    3. Monitor the credit granting and updating process.
    4. Review credit recommendations from credit associates.
    5. Responsible for evaluating credit for high revenue business customers.
    6. Establish goals and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s), striving for best possible DSO, and to measure the quality and efficiency of the credit and collection related processes.
    7. Work to continually strive for A/R aging improvement and DSO reduction while supporting sales.
    8. Maintain a department organizational structure sufficient to meet all goals and objectives.
    9. Supervise team of Credit/Collections associates.
    10. Properly motivate the credit and collections team.
    11. Measure department performance with appropriate metrics.
    12. Provide for ongoing training of the credit staff.
    13. Manage relationships with collection agencies, credit reporting agencies and sales departments.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

    1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting or related field.
    2. 5 years of credit/collections experience.
    3. 3 years of supervisory/management experience.
    4. Extensive knowledge of mechanics liens and related job rights protections.
    5. Proficient in business law with strong contract review skills.
    6. Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities, while demonstrating strong attention to detail and appreciation of deadlines is essential.
    7. Demonstrate strong analytical, problem solving and decision making skills.
    8. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in written form.
    9. Proficient in MS Office with strong excel skills.

     

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    1. Walking and moving about on foot often up and down stairs.
