    POSITION SUMMARY:  The Rental Service Manager will be responsible for the operational efficiency of his branch utilizing all the resources made available to him. The Rental Service Manager will provide our customers with well-maintained rental equipment and provide exceptional customer service. A key function is the scheduling and prioritizing of rental equipment repairs in a safe and timely manner, by direct rental technicians plus branch personnel and ensure trust and productivity.


    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:             

    1. Oversees and direct all activities necessary to maintain a safe and efficient rental service operation.
    2. Prioritizes machine repairs both in the yard and in the field.
    3. Assists Rental Coordinators in recovering and repairing customer damage.
    4. Manages operations to ensure productivity, customer service, and profitability.
    5. Ensures that all work orders are opened and closed accurately and on time.
    6. Oversees facility issues and resolves any problems, including cleanliness and efficiency of the entire yard.
    7. Manages personnel matters – elevates and involves management and Human Resources when necessary.
    8. Oversees the technicians effectively and utilizes performance reviews and disciplinary action when necessary.
    9. Oversees all safety matters, including audits, safety training, OSHA compliance, DOT regulations, and drug and alcohol testing, when necessary.
    10. Ensures they and all direct reports attend all training required.
    11. Codes and approves authorized accounts workflow payable invoices.
    12. Interfaces with Branch Manager and Technical Communicator, to ensure all warranties are all recovered.
    13. Interfaces and communicates effectively with customers regarding scheduled maintenance and equipment repairs.
    14. Manages Payroll for direct reports and WIP employees.
    15. Works with Branch Manager to focus changes that will make the branch to be more productive, effective, and efficient.
    16. Assists with hands on training of technicians.
    17. Will conduct any other duties as deemed necessary by the management.



    1. Must have 2 years general office/Management experience.
    2. Must have 2 years of industry experience.
    3. PC skills required.
    4. Must have a valid California Class C Drivers License.
    5. Strong customer service experience for internal and external customers


    TESTING REQUIREMENTS:  Applicants may be required to pass a written and/or oral examination before being considered for employment in this position.

    8. Vision: Read work tickets and parts books.
    9. Talking: Communications by radio, phone, and in person.
    10. Sitting: Sits in equipment and in vehicles.



    1. Noise:   Works in conditions with constant or intermittent noise.
    2. Temp/Weather: Works in a warehouse and outside with variations of temperature and weather.
    3. Exposure: Foul odors, fumes and harsh substances.
